![]() These maps are Duel (from original version). I have included Screenshots of the maps as they are displayed in my JKA game. I have added alot of missing textures and removed the tavion npc spawn. ![]() These were Maps originally created by Ravensoftware that ONLY worked in Jedi Outcast. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: place the zz_pits.pk3 file in your C:\programfiles\lucasarts\jediacademy\gamedata\base directory. There's probably more that I forgot, but push spam stands out as the worst example of game-killing, fun-sucking imbalance I've ever seen in a multiplayer game.CREDITS to: Ravensoftware, IrocJeff and myself. And the code was based on OJP as well, which doesn't have anything close to these horrendous balance issues. A real shame, because the game had much potential. I stopped playing when the announcement for MBIII was made, with the decision to not only keep the worst aspects (push and E-11 spam), but also to buff them. The game could have been so much better than this, all the tools were there. In MBII it's 80-90% of Jedi/Sith standing in one place and just pushing, and I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not. You'd see push used in the movies maybe once out of every 20 lightsaber strokes. But most importantly, it just wasn't fun AT ALL, and it wasn't very Star Wars-like. The fact that push takes no aim whatsoever is a dead giveaway, and all the counters take at least moderate precision, aim and practise. The fact is that using those counters took way, way, WAY more skill than it took for someone to just spam push. That's all well and good, but the point is not that such counters exist, the point is the terrible balance. For example, the guy above listed a bunch of counters to Jedi/Sith class push spamming. But I know for a fact the game was horribly balanced. So it's not like I feel rage over some mechanic that I couldn't get. I was pretty good as well, and no one could run circles around 3 Jedi/Sith at once than I could (Hero class). Nope, I played it for months, if not years. There is a big learning curve for new-comers and that's probably why you are having such difficulty with oppossing classes. The game is actually a lot more balanced then you think, with the exception of wook, deka, and sbd. Originally posted by Paradine ):It really sounds like you've only played the mod for about a week. It really sounds like you've only played the mod for about a week. You can try and shoot them, but they'll just deflect blaster shots back at you indefinitely until you run out of ammo and they just one-hit-kill you. That's right, if there's a Jedi or Sith in general vicinity then you absolutely have to walk otherwise they can knock you over and stun you by pressing a button and not even having to aim. ![]() Also, if you're not a Jedi/Sith class then you can be instantly knocked over by Jedi/Sith just by them pressing a button whilst you are running, and they do not even have to be aiming at you. To put things in perspective: the most common weapon is the most powerful since you can just spam it without any accuracy or damage decrease, so there's no incentive to use anything else. Originally posted by >:It's fun but horribly unbalanced to the point that it's not fun, just frustrating. ![]() Works every time, and really pisses them off. Stand still, slow-walk, or crouch walk and shoot right after they swing. If you get up and run around, they'll push you. I believe it drains more quickly the closer the blaster shots, which is why most of the time you can go full auto at close range and they'll start running to the side or behind cover if they don't die.īack when I used to play MBII quite a bit, the biggest problem with Jedi/Sith was not to lose your ♥♥♥♥ when they got in all close. This threshold is decreases every time you hit them with a blaster shot (among other things), but it regenerates over time slowly. Blue style blocks efficiently, red style can't block for ♥♥♥♥, and yellow is in the middle. There is also a threshold for how many shots they can take. Stick around the Jedi/Sith on your team as well, because they can defend you most of the time. When the Jedi/Sith uses push they are incapable of blocking blaster shots, meaning someone only has to hit them with a couple of blaster shots or one good projectile/disruptor shot and they go down no problem. You can avoid getting pushed by moving slowly (for the lower levels of push, not sure about push 3) and staying with your teamates. If you're talking about Movie Battles II, once you get the hang of it Jedi/Sith are easy targets 1 v 1.
